Description

DESCRIPTION

The PREDATOR 01 TRI is the wide version of Prologo's integrated saddle for time trials. It's the culmination of an ambitious and meticulous R&D and design process that began 18 months ago, leading the Italian company to create an extremely innovative, lightweight, and aerodynamic model. A compact, high-performance saddle weighing just 149 grams, it perfectly meets the needs of the most demanding triathletes and time trialists, always seeking the ultimate expression of speed and power. This product was developed in synergy with IRONMAN world champion Sam Laidlow.

Technologies

To further improve the aerodynamics of the new saddle, the shape of the PREDATOR 01 TRI was designed using CFD simulation software and then refined with specific wind tunnel tests that align the saddle with the bicycle and the athlete. The sinuous side wings on the sides of the base hide and shield the rail and seatpost clamp from the wind, while the rear section, even more pronounced and sharper than the previous version, channels dirty airflow from the cyclist's back parallel to the road, thus reducing the coefficient of friction.

The revolutionary carbon rail, a true plate perfectly integrated into the base, features a much larger flat surface area than traditional round or oval rails. This innovative and patented solution ensures maximum power transfer and improves handling and the connection between the seatpost and the rider throughout every phase of the pedal stroke, allowing the athlete to perceive even the slightest sensation transmitted by the frame.

The PREDATOR 01 TRI is a modular saddle with sustainability in mind. The integrated plate and base are specifically designed to be removable. This makes it easier to replace, repair, and recycle the saddle's various parts at the end of the product's life cycle.

Compact size

The ergonomic shape of the saddle, just 110 mm wide, was designed to facilitate maximum pelvic rotation, allowing the athlete to assume and maintain an extremely aerodynamic position for longer. The PREDATOR 01TRI seat features a surface with increased EVA padding for maximum support. The wide central PAS channel, which runs the entire length of the support area, reduces pressure peaks on soft tissue, improving comfort.

The extremely compact dimensions of this V-shape saddle (260x110 mm) are even more astonishing when considering only the padded section, which is only 170 mm long. The nose is a full 60 mm wide to ensure a larger support surface and therefore greater comfort. This wider version is recommended for triathletes who enjoy longer time trials, where they need to stay in the saddle for longer periods.
